I have always been fascinated by the cosmos. For this project, I wanted to recreate what it would be like to travel to the planet Gliese 581g or Zarmina. This took me to some hiking trips in Mexico to shoot footage and document landscapes that resembled what the scientific data tells us the landscape of this exoplanet might be like. I climbed the mountains La Malinche, Citlatepetl (or Pico de Orizaba, the highest mountain in Mexico), and traveled to Río Filobobos in Veracruz. The audio are field recordings from Mexico City adapted to resemble alien wildlife. The video is designed to be presented on an ultra-wide, three-screen projection setup.
